Encryption That Matters

Local Password Vault uses AES-256-GCM encryption—the same standard used by governments, banks, and security agencies worldwide. Your passwords aren't just hidden; they're mathematically locked.

Your master password is never stored. Instead, it's processed using Argon2id key derivation with hundreds of thousands of iterations and unique salts, making brute-force attacks computationally infeasible.

AES-256-GCM

Military-grade encryption with authenticated encryption mode for both confidentiality and integrity.

Argon2id

Industry-leading key derivation resistant to GPU-based attacks and timing attacks.

Unique Salts

Every vault has a cryptographically random salt, making each one independently secure.

Memory Protection

Sensitive data is cleared from memory immediately after use, preventing extraction.

The Offline Advantage

Unlike cloud-based password managers, Local Password Vault never connects to the internet. There are no servers to breach, no sync services to compromise, and no network vulnerabilities to exploit.

If someone hacks the internet, they still cannot touch your vault. Your passwords exist only on your device, encrypted with a key only you possess.

This is what security experts call "air-gapped" protection. No remote access. No attack surface. No exposure.

I Never See Your Data

Local Password Vault operates on a zero-knowledge architecture. I have no access to your passwords, master key, or vault contents. The architecture is designed so that I cannot access your data even if required—this is a fundamental security principle, not a limitation.

What We Can Never Access:

Your master password
Your stored passwords
Your vault contents
Your encryption keys

No Telemetry. No Tracking.

The app runs completely offline with zero data collection. No analytics, no usage tracking, no hidden network calls. Your privacy is absolute.

Every installer is digitally code-signed with a verified certificate, ensuring the software hasn't been tampered with. When you install LPV, your operating system verifies the signature automatically.
